Professor Gui Valente Seminar – July 2016

Team Pedro Sauer UK member, Martyn Rackham, recently attended a seminar with Professor Gui Valente, at Jon Hegan’s Upminster Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu.

Having had the chance to train with Professor Gui, Martyn knew the seminar was not to be missed; and he did not come away disappointed!

The focus of the session was the correct use of open guard against a striking opponent.

As well as some slick techniques to ensure the guard is not passed, Professor Gui also showed some choke and armbar variations that worked well form the open guard setup.
